Wasn't billed as a total in the UK .... was interesting to watch (We always use the old rectangular welder's glass from pre-auto masks... cheap as chips and works perfectly) .... but never going to get dark ... it was about 95% in the UK ... even 99% is just like a dull winter day .... not til that last 0.5% disappears that the magic happens.
Eclipses were a bit of a thing for me for a while ... have seen 3 total eclipses (South-Coast UK in 1999 ... Antalya, Turkey ... and Wyoming, US) .... Total on a clear-sky day is a truly special thing.
Actually had a fine viewing yesterday .. sat on a cliff with some pals ... talking rubbish and watching the moon eat the sun was a pleasant way to spend a couple of hours on a balmy evening 🙂
