She always seemed Authentic ... through all the homespun country-tales and rhinestones she just seemed herself ... and that served to endear her on some basic level with Rednecks and Glastonbury-goers alike.

Good songwriter too ... always preferred her own version over the vocal gymnastics of most of the more famous covers ... less is more, and it was a personal song for her rather than some generic 'love-song'
