I quite like the OE plastic containers on our cars
Reasonably robust, cheap to replace but most of all you need only a glance to see content level which may save your day. I guess its a horses for courses thing.
Having said that, given the opportunity, I was quick to change the plastic T piece on heater circuit plumbing. Oh and the plastic rad when it started to weep
