After taking delivery of my 4/4 in nov 2011, I had to get different shocks & geometry sorted by Techniques Morgan during its 1st service. I remember reading by upas much as I could. What I seem to remember is that the 4/4s & Roadsters had their rebound springs just touching the hub, at operating weight Hence the ability to just turn them by hand. But the +4s were apparently supposed to have their rebound springs under load. Does anyone else remember this ? Unfortunately at the time I never discovered why.
Also at that time mmc were using 115 lb front main springs on the 4/4 , ensured they bottomed out all the time. MMC were trying to soften the ride & escape from the quoted heads or tails ride. At the risk of upsetting some, I actually wondered if MMC actually employed a proper qualified engineer.
