I think the car industry is now driven by IT geeks who add more and more not needed systems.
Unfortunately……… the world now seems to be driven by these same IT geeks…….!
Everything……… everything…….. is now a thousand times more complicated/difficult/frustrating than it was just a few years ago…!!
I don’t see it all ending well…🤦🏻♂️

I do wonder what the future has in store if there is indeed a chance of power outages as some predict given how ever more dependant we have become on digitisation in everything.
As for digitisation in vehicles, I watched it beginning to take hold, and just gave up, as trying to keep up with digitisation in the work environment was more than challenge enough, spurious alarms on systems of all types by the hundreds in any one day, was challenge enough, without spending time at home in the garage playing the same game as a means of enjoying one`s leisure time....
Taking things to the extreme.. (-: Imagine failing an MOT on a Tesla as the result of a fault in the ability to select the log fire display, or the ability to play a farty sound on any of the individual seat cushions one might use for a bit of in car fun......!!!
Having typed that I think my Tesla is a personal transportation device that well suits the old man I have become, it has been a tiresome process to step through the menus to perform the basic tasks one requires to operate the vehicle in a basic manner, when basic switches took much less time to operate the base functional requirements, as operating them became second nature and did not create any kind of distraction by paying attention to what and where to press on an area of a screen to select or alter a basic function... Typical old man rant... ? (-:
