As I had to visit the factory it presented an opportunity to look at one of the photographic build records, and give my assessment.
The first impression is that this is not some cheap album you can buy in Boots, on the contrary it is a brown leather bound album embossed with the Morgan logo and held together by a leather strap (bonnet style). The album is contained in a special presentation box adorned with the Morgan logo.
As well as images of your car in production the album contains some printed material about the history of Morgan and the cars, together with a picture of the factory. This is not a digital album but a hand made product, with each photograph taken during the production process mounted on a dedicated page with a black background. The pictures I viewed were quite sharp and of good quality given the challenge of taking images under fluorescent light.
This is a bespoke and unique product and not something you can easily produce yourself. To do a DIY job you would need to be camped out at the MMC for almost three weeks, and would have to ask permission to go beyond the red areas marked for visitors. For some areas such as the paint shop visitors are not normally admitted.
In my opinion it would certainly cost you £175 in time and hassle, and for those who do not live close to the factory, the album is a wonderful record of your car being built.
PS The album I looked at was for a classic car - I have not seen the build album for an M3W.
