I'm buying one of these kits and mounting it on a 1964 TR4. I have a TR-powered Plus 4 four-seater and this will make a good stablemate for it. A nice feature of the Hunter roadster is that I can have a Laycock de Normanville overdrive. The four-speed Moss gearbox limits the Plus 4 on long highway treks, and the overdrive is a big help. Unfortunately, the Morgan factory never installed the overdrive, and retrofitting one requires serious cutting and welding of the chassis frame. On the TR4, installing the overdrive is a bolt-on operation.
It would be tempting to mount the kit on a TR6 with its straight-six engine, but in America the TR6 was detuned to reduce air pollution and it's a disappointment below 40 mph. Also, with the TR4 chassis I'll be able to make more direct comparisons between the Hathaway Hunter and my Plus 4.
