Can anyone advice if it is normal to offer less than the asking price in such cases or is this unlikely to be successful when purchasing such a niche market car.
It's unlikely to be successful if you don't do it. I offered 10% under the asking price and we settled at somewhere farly close to that. These people are car dealers like any others.
