Hi- yes, it restarted OK, and the light hasn't come on again. I guess a loose lead to the light or a faulty earth somewhere. I think I'll head home (170 miles depending on route) if all starts OK tomorrow and get my local garage to look at it if it recurs.
The Zetec motor is uncannily quiet when idling with the bonnet open, I'm quite impressed.
I'm also impressed that many (OK not all) road users treat you with a bit more respect than if you're driving an "average" car!
