Fantastic - thanks Jays - that's my gearknob all right. Unfortunately, I still can't find the grub screw/s  The exposed part of the threaded bush (the bit that's covered by the unscrewable collar on my car) is the plain end - ie the end with no grub screw in your photo. Which seems to indicate that the grub screw (or screws) is up inside the gearknob itself! No amount of shoving down of the collar on my part is exposing the grub screw - because there ain't no grub screw there!Could you very kindly confirm to me that the gearknob "shell" itself screws onto the threaded bush with a normal right-hand thread on your example? If so, then I'll need to use brute force to unscrew the knob from the bush; re-tighten (and maybe reverse?) the bush, then screw the knob back on. Many thanks in anticipation. Nick  Just taken my gearknob off. The gearknob "shell" does screw onto the threaded bush with a normal right hand thread. The difference on my vehicle is that the grub screws are visible and are at the top of the threaded bush.

Nick,
To clarify, the thread inside the gear knob is at the top of the gear knob.
So until you remove the gear knob you will not see the grub screws. As the gear know covers the section with the grub screws.
If you grab the gear knob firmly and untighten anti-clockwise you should be able to shift the gear knob.
Note the plastic H badge is not meant to be removed.

The picture's clear now: I need to unscrew the knob from the threaded bush, to expose the section with the grub screws - and then re-tighten those. Unfortunately, maximum application of brute force has achieved nothing, other than to shift the whole shooting match around the stick by a further 70 degrees or so, such that the "H"-gate is now at right-angles to straight ahead. The knob is still loose as well.  The knob appears to be seized on the threaded bush - or else someone has Locktited it on. All I'm succeeding in doing (I suspect) is chewing up the top of the gearstick. I think I'm going to have to bite the bullet and let Berrybrook have a go at it. It's looking like judicious application of a hacksaw, and a new gearknob for me

Nick.... mine is spare, so if you do cock things up, you are very welcome to it.
I believe that they are made by Richbrook, who supply to Morgan, Aston Martin etc so you could always get an alternative (as I did) from them.
