Simmo, from what I can remember the set up on yours looks different from mIne, one online the cable runs through the sort of drilled bolt you get on bicycle brakes.

Rod and ball joint linkages are quite comon on motorcycle pedals. It would be easy to adapt something from a motorcycle dismantler.
