The front box of my original (as far as I know) standard exhaust of my 1988 cvh 4 seater is showing some corrosion, and so I am thinking it will need replacing at some point in the not too distant future. It hasn't fallen off yet and this doesn't seem imminent, but I thought it might be worth starting to research the best option.
In my ownership, have taken the view of replacing things as they have worn with an improved version if one is available.

The back box is also showing signs of age, so I am probably looking at options from the downpipe back

I wouldn't mind a more tuneful exhaust note, but don't want to end up with anything too boomy - I do quite a few miles in the car. but other than that I am open to suggestions

So answers on a post card please!

I have 3 CVH exhausts I don't need from various times over the last couple of years

1) Rear exit: sporty
2) Loud side exit: 111db
3) Sporty side exit: 97db

if you are interested let me know.

A Geordie so that means you are tight with the cash . John Worrall ( Heart of England Morgans ) has 1 CVH manifold and down pipe left in stainless steel a 4 into 2 into 1 system . Mike Duncan can put you a +8 silencer ( fits to chassis under the nearside door ) on a straight through pipe in s/steel and it will last you years also sound better and give you a bit more power . uk

cerealsurfer, sent you a PM, regarding your spare exhausts.

From experiance, you are better off without a backbox on a Morgan, otherwise you will always ground it on bumps etc..

Not had a problem with the rear box on mine - just the end of the tailpipe, which now looks like a 'D' on it's side, except the flat part of the D, which is on the bottom, is kinked in/upwards towards the curved top part, if you see what I mean... grin2

I am not a geordie, I just live here! As a merseysider by origin, I would probably rather thieve the required parts (well, de doo doh, dont de doh, eh Laa?)

Cheers for the tips, I will have another look at heart of england site again.

I am hopeful one of cereals hand me downs might suit

Thanks to Cerealsurfer, I now have a nice new to me tubular manifold, neatly wrapped and a sporty rear exit pipe.

Just need to get it fitted, might have a crack myself once I have done a bit of research.......
