Guiness book of records for a roadster that does 47.8 mpg....something wrong with that calc.
My 2005 roadster can do 36mpg on a long trip..mostly does 30 ish. BUT:
How do we know our mileometers are accurate...after all our speedos are miles out....doesn't the mileometer work on the same basis?

Do not know how much it is in miles per gallon.

But also like the sound of the Librands Sport System when using the right foot.

9.5 litres per 100 km equals about 30 miles per gallon imperial.

I don't know what you mean about the sound of the sports exhaust system innocent

Mileometer on my '76 is pretty close - within 1.5%, so I use that figure from the car's gauge (measured over 100 miles). The speedo is way off (car sat around too long with the previous owner I think - 22 miles one year from MoT certs shocked2).
However, it's not like your electronic clocks which use one input (counting electrical impulses). The old mechanical variety (if you have Melvyn Rutter's The Malvern World, you will know this) is different - the speedo is on a form of drag/friction mechanism, with the mileometer driven directly from a worm gear. The speedo part is adjustable (mechanically) where the only way to adjust the mileometer (and trip) would be to change the gear drive.

Cheers,

....just remembered....we were overtaken a couple of times on our trip...

Several cyclists and a couple walking a dog, when we were sitting in a big traffic jam due to a road closure (due an accident) and the other time was when we pulled over to let an ambulance past.

Well at least i'm honest ! laugh2

Thank you guys.
You are very smart people. read
Nice to know how much it "drinks", so I can compare. thumbs
My Roadster seems to be a little bit thirsty envy and I always treat him with Shell Super 98 so it is not cheap drive
But so what, he is worth it. And it is just money, isnīt it. grin2
