IIRC someone did the same with their 250 GTO: requested a toolroom copy when the originals started to go bonkers pricewise.

I am sure one Morgan dealer sells Proteus replicas of a C-type Jag. I will check their sites

Depending on the actual spec, they started at GBP65k - a bit of a bargain imho when you see the level of finish. Factory built cars. Brian This brings us back to the AC Cobra conversation. How do you feel about buying a copy, or a replica, or a clone, and how do others view your car. It depends.... When the real thing is unavailable, or when the 'recreation' (as Bonhams describes them) is a properly engineered copy? Yes, I wouldn't mind. How others view my cars is not an issue. I looked at the XJ13 'recreation'. Very nice. £2m. Cough!

I have never been lucky enough to see one in person, but this has always been one of my favorite Jaguar models. This is definitely on my WANT list, just a hope and a dream away. These are pretty in the flesh for sure but like you say they are as rare as hens teeth
