The offical press release does not say this??

See http://www.morgan-motor.co.uk/new_wings/morgan%20new%20logo.pdf

And why do you assume that 'CM' has had to apply a corporate whip? Who are you to say the dealers don't support it then?? somestick

Personaly I'm getting fed fed up with these anti 'CM' (why cannot anybody use his full name - Charles Morgan) and MMC jibes. redcard

No reason to worry. We have many friends in common. You have contacts with dealers you trust and trust you. Would it not be a shortcut simply ask them how they feel about the new logo..with mutual assurances of discretion of course.

I don't think any harm was meant Phil. Certainly, we are all gentlemen enough to call Mr. Morgan whatever he wishes to be called. Can you check on that? Most naturally assume that with his grandfather enjoying the moniker of "HFS" and his father "PM", that he was pleased with "CM".

On what you call jibes..that is a simply a function of we see the proper expression Morgan love. Some owners express it as a deep loyalty and desire to protect fellow owners first and foremost. Others feel the same love is best expressed by seeing no fault in the company or its management and being intolerant of any comment of either save praise. Of course, the affection of both groups for the car is without question.

I have no problem watching either reaction, though I believe the former inevitably helps the company more. This is a small firm without an in-house development facility anymore and market research is not done. Discussion groups can help in both areas, if we are frank.

However, if you feel any remarks or opinions critical about the cars, the company, or its management (since May 2006 Charles Morgan officially shares the vote on all executive decisions with Matthew Parkin, Tim Whitworth and Steve Morris) are improper and unwelcome, we can refrain from offering them.

I know a couple of dealers quite well and they have all said they think it's a great idea. They also think it was a good time to do the change with 2009 coming up. flag

I have always called him Charles and he seems to be Ok with that. I have never heard him reffered to face to face as CM.
Anyone else heard this? sherlock

Be careful as it I could be taken as devisive of you to say that owners form themselves into such 'groups'. laugh

Speaking for myself I see elements of both 'groups'in my own attitude. It depends upon what particular feature or aspects of the car and company we are talking about. I do however like to make my judgements based upon my own experience and as many facts as I can gather.

What disturbs me about many of the comments made which I describe as anti MMC 'jibes' is they are often not backed by facts. This logo thread (as I said earlier somewhere) is a case in point. Where judgmenets were made upon the reasons for it without anybody apparently having any facts as to why from the MMC themselves.

What I also percieve is a few people consistenly following either overtly or covertly a line of loyalty to other owners and not the MMC and indeed everything the MMC now does is seen in a negative light. That deeply disturbs me as to why people are so. Once again if there were loads of facts as to why then someone please present them here for discussion. We all have an opinion but the anti MMC jibes are becoming a 'self fulling prophecy' and people are being influenced to believe that everything the current MMC does is bad without real facts behind this.

Another way to look at this is through personal experience of the MMC. I know a number of people have regular dealings with the factory usually for service for example. I note on TM many positive and few negative comments about peoples day to day dealings with the factory. If you visit the factory (as I will next week) it's a friendly greeting and people are happy to chat to you about the cars and what is happening. I dont see them being distant from current owners if you visit the factory at all. I have to say in my experience Charles is no different in this from anyone else. soapbox

No never stop offering your opinon that would be censorship and I don't belive that TM exists to control what people can and cannot say on it.

Just don't get upset when forthright opinions are expressed which may oppose yours. I don't. love

Exactly.

And I have to say that in my dealing with Steve Morris, Matthew Parkin, Mark Baldwin and, in correspondence with, Charles Morgan, I have found them all to be service focused and extremely proud of MMC; as a result, consistently striving to exceed the expectations of their customer.

Hi Phil

Can you please do me a favour when you are at the factory.

Can you please have a look in the cupboard as I keep reading again and again and again that "the cupboard is bare".

Cheers, much appreciated.

Well actually I have already been told the cupboards are empty as they are awaiting new stocks of brochures... something to do with a logo change innocent
