There was a discussion here about a year ago about Shiela Hancock's Morgan. I presently own that car, chassis B1798. She first registered it 2 Jan 1969 as VYL-364G--it is a 4/4 four seater in ivory with black leather. I bought it from the old Morris Stapleton Motors in London on 5 Jul 1974 and have owned the 38 years since then. My wife and I have driven it all over most of Europe and the US. I'm just now finishing its third extensive restoration--frame off, every nut and bolt replaced, alternator, electronic ignition, racing cyl head and cam, stainless headers, etc. I have painted the wings black and installed correct painted wire wheels, fresh hood, tonneau and side curtains. Should be on the streets of South Carolina in October.

Welcome to TalkMorgan, Allen. It sounds like Shiela's car has found an appreciative home in the US. Gerry.

Hi Allen, welcome to the forum and congratulations on having a Royal Ivory 4/4 four-seater!

The previous discussion for those who missed it is here: Sheila Hancock's 4/4 "twin"

Thanks for confirming both the age and the type of car which had been in some doubt from previous articles, Sheila Hancock herself describes it as a two seater in her book. She apparently bought it new and reluctantly eventually sold it to a dealer when she needed a more family friendly car, so I guess you are only the second owner?

Incidentally after the original post David Vickers, Sheila Hancock's 1969 TV Times "twin", sent me a PM to say he still owns his 4-4 which was also undergoing a rebuild.

Welcome to the forum Alan. cheers

If this is the 3rd time you have rebuilt the car, I do not expect you will have many questions to ask of the members here. But I bet they have plenty for for you. sos

It strikes me this would make a good article for Mog Magazine. Perhaps a bit ambitious to reunite it with the original owner but it would be good to get Ms. Hancock's thoughts on the car that she clearly had much affection for.
