I chat with a Morganeer on Facebook, don't think he's a TM'er - if you facebook. look for Morgan Drives.
Anyhoo, he drove his 2010 4/4 round the med, notworthy with barely a mark, and a couple of months later had a Tojo pickup drive into & over the front... swear
Here's the exchange we've had this evening:

Good news today, the parts have all been sourced and work has begun on rebuilding the 4/4! Hope to have some pictures showing progress soon.

Mike Carter Sourced? SOURCED?? You make it sound like last night's Classic Car Restoration on C5...god forbid! Seriously though, that's taken a helluva long time, do HQ work on JIT and keep minimal spares stocks? At least you won't have to worry about over-winter storage :-)

Morgan Drives To be honest Mike, it's probably easier with a classic car! The problem had been that Morgan had changed the pattern of the front inner wings, front wings, position of bonnet locks etc a few months back, the older pattern parts weren't availible in stock, and the new parts aren't compatible with cars as ancient (nearly 20 mths old) as mine! Hence a bit of a wait whilst the correct parts were manufactured. Worth remembering if you choose to altercate with a pick-up any time in the future! scared

Is this really a sensible thing for HQ to do? banghead

Surely Morgan are obliged to keep parts for cars for a 'reasonable' period.... 20 months isn't even a 'period'. It's yesterday!

Ah...you saw that programme too then Mike. Would you buy that jag of the "restorers"? I certainly would not!

I noticed a couple of months ago at the factory that all cars were being fitted with the same inner front wings as the new Roadster. I hadnt realised that the wings and bonnet locks etc had changed too. I'm at the factory next week and I'll have a closer look!

what's the difference between the old and new inner wings then? And what has changed about the bonnet catches?

The new inner wings appear to be a pressed panel, rather than a hand/machine cut panel.
I can't be certain, having only been shown one at my local dealer and not seen them at the factory.
Perhaps a regular visitor to the factory can advise further?

These are the pressed stainless inner wings fitted to the new Roadster. All the trads are now fitted with them. I'm at the factory on Monday so if anyone wants photos of them on 4/4s and Plus 4s, I'll take some then.
