What gets me is that Morgan must be aware of the problem and it would not be difficult to fix during production.

I have to agree with Peter. The car should go back to either the dealer or the factory to get properly sorted. There's no excuse for leaks...just shoddy workmanship and design.

Is it possible to unfasten and lift the box slightly to gain access for thin fingers? No, not without removing the engine management system to get at a screw under it :-( I'm reluctant to do that on a new car. I hate to think what Morgan would say in the event of a warranty claim  I've managed to get a strip of P section weather proofing sealer down the side of the box. A gallon of water poured through the heater inlet resulted in NO WATER INSIDE  Now I just need some rain  Ian

I agree it should be sorted by Morgan ( via the dealer) but it would cost me a day to get it over to the dealer & wait while it's done. I don't want to leave it until the next service. That's 8000 miles away ( at least a couple of months  )

Took the Mog out to test my attempts at waterproofing. 15 miles & not a drop entered! Next time I'm going to try it in the wet  Ian

How's the running in Ian? I suspect, like me, you have some mechanical sympathy and are running in with a degree of caution.
My mind says....
1st 500 miles, no more than 2,800 rpm. Frequently varied throttle.
500-2,000 miles 3,500 rpm odd blip to 4,000 rpm at over 1,000 miles.
2,000 miles to 5,000 miles 4,000 rpm
5,000 miles, pretty much run in....
Or am I being too cautious?!

I don't worry too much about revs ( within reason) , more the load on the engine. I avoid labouring at all costs & gradually increase the power as the miles progress. I've done over 2000 miles to date & am now giving it the occasional bit of serious wellie  I think you can be too cautious, resulting in the engine ( and other part, of course) not being run in when you start using full power. I reckon my last Roadster wasn't really running freely until it had some 10,000 on the clock, so in spite of my best efforts  , it still hadn't been run in properly until then. Ian

You are being too cautious. With a modern engine after the first oil change drive it like you stole it!
