So this is my solution. Factory prototype, aluminium, secured on the rack, lockable, openable in place. Covered to match the hood.
Not as good-looking as a wire wheel, but solves the total lack of storage on the +8.

Had the car two days. Its an auto version. Its amazing, big advance on my old 3.0 Roadster in most respects, but not all:
Pluses:
- very very quick indeed, and my Roadster was not slow. Stress: really quick.
- great handling, especially cornering (despite Autocar's view)
- quieter than the Roadster (except for the V8 exhaust noise which is perfect, sounds like armageddon if pushed hard)
- manual select (no clutch) option on the auto gearbox is better than my Jag. You can drive it as a manual, but it will still over-ride your gear if revs too high or going too slow - ideal.
Minuses: (apart from price)
- good feel, but steering not quite as in touch with the road as the Roadster, but handles rough roads better;
- usual Morgan niggles, things lose, fan not working, switch illumination not working (fuses ok)
- steering wheel looks wrong, but as it houses the airbag I presume insurance issues if I change it
- pity no wire wheels, but clearly impossible with size of brake callipers
And
- wife likes the heated seats

Looking to this ad on autoscout24 it must be possible to have wirewheels on the new plus8.If it is possible on an Aero8 it must be possible on the new Plus8.

Look very closely at the wheel. There are no adjusting nuts on the spokes, so these look like welded 'alloys' to a wirewheel pattern. The outer spokes are fixed onto the outside edge of the rim.
Very nice though.

To my eye they are aftermarket Borranis so not factory spec. Alloy outer and steel inner wires, IIRC.
