I was told when I bought Woodstock it was painted in Ferrari Gallio Fly, and when I rebuilt the car in 1988/9 the repaint definitely was this colour as I both specified it and paid for it!

Indeed.. we have compared it to another Giallo Fly Yellow morgan as there are two Gallio Fly Yellow colours. The question is weather to keep it Giallo Fly or change to another yellow. Giallo Orion is slightly different, not sure it would work, hence the question. Currently the default would be a respray in Fly Yellow.

Update 20 - Cleaning and painting the basicsSo this week has involved the profuse use of the sanders. Rotary Belt, Large Pad, Small Pad, Air Disk and of course by hand!! Well all I can say is I never expected to end up using a 40 Grit Heavy Duty belt sander to get the paint off!! First-up was the interior.. having stripped things out last week we decided in the end to take the floorboards out and referbish the inner chassis. Before: After: We have removed the rear frame over the axle, the wooden deck frame has been stripped and repainted and the two pieces of wood and one of tin which make up the rear deck will be replaced with sheet aluminium. The rear of the deck (which seperates the interior from the fuel tank has been bent to shape by the sheet bender machine at the local forge. You can also see in this picture the rear suspension hoop has been fitted. Back deck before: Back deck after: Ali sheets to be fitted. Then onto the front of the car, taking the bonnet off and cowel and Missprint and I getting stuck in with the sanders.. getting the black paint off the engine bay. The bulkhead will be sprayed black so needs a good finish and the inner bay pannels will be painted with smooth black metal paint. Well.. all I can say is it was some serious sanding. Missprint did a great job on the front Cross Head and steering/track bars. In the end, the result was fantastic and it's already to be painted. Another thing sorted this week..... Modification of the propshaft so the front coupling can mount to a Type 9 who's output shaft is larger than the Ford 4 speed.

Great photos and a lot of hard work going on here, but it's really interesting watching the progress. Thanks for sharing.

Andy if your going to race the car in the morgan challange you might need to check the regs before taking out bits of the ash frame. see 5.6.2.1 https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&p...wZmJlMTEyMmNlZQ

Jim, thanks for the heads up..... I'm working on the basis that the ash frame will not be changed as per 5.6.2.1. Only the plywood in-fill on the floor and back deck are swapped as per 5.6.1.8 the regs I agree prohibit the removal of any parts of the frame itself.

Out of curiosity, and given my ground clearance problems (hopefully now resolved), can anyone tell me just where this measurement is made on a trad chassis. A photo would be nice 5.6.2 Prohibited Modifications:
5. Ground Clearance – Lowering the car so that the bottom of the Z section of the chassis (the lowest point of the chassis on Aero 8), measured at a point midway between the front and rear wheel centres (at the toeboard on traditional models) is less than: Classes A, A 4 cylinder, B 4 cylinder, E(1-7) - 102mm. Classes A Aero 8,NPlus8, B Aero 8(incl GTN) - 127mm, Classes B 6 cylinder & 8 cylinder, C, D, E, F, R - 130mm. Class E(8):- 140mm
