Have I missed something...is that likely to happen? It does happen occasionally with standard tyres. It really depends on the sidewall construcion. The pipe is soft and can be manipulated out of the way.... just something worth checking before roaring of rnd a track. Putting a hole in the pipe and flicking crud into the air-intake can't be good. There is a pic of the pipe & routing in one of my galleries on webshots.... the aero with the driver-side wing off.

If you are looking for a tyre for road and track which performs significantly better then the Pierlli P-Zero Rosso's then either:
Pirelli P-Zero Rosso Anymetrico - Night and day compared to just Rosso. Have tested this tyre combo back-to-back personally. Sorry to raise this old thread again... Can you explain the difference between all these Pirelli P-Zero types? I seem to have P-Zero Rossos and they are quite good. Whats the differ with the Anymetrico and the others Pirrelli list on their website?

For all those Aero Owners who want track wheels.......... Here you are: (I'm not the seller... just found the ad. buried in the wheels section of Pistonheads.. and several owners have asked about track wheels) http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/226341.htm Although the price is a bit steep considering their condition. Seems to be on e-bay as well... no reserve. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Oz-Racing-Magnesio...1QQcmdZViewItem

I have just got the news that I need 2 new tyres and RTCC said just to replace the original P Zero's. I was having a read round before deciding and am thinking of changing all 4 tyres (don't want to have different on the front to back) with Toyo 245/45R18 96Y Proxes 1-R I found them at www.tyrexpress.com and after checking on here wanted to know what you thought. I don't have much time to decide. My car is my only car and used rain or shine, I have never done a track day. thanks Neil

Neil - they are fabulous road tyres and indeed although good for track use were always designed as road tyres. I had some on my old Volvo estate and they were superb. Wet and Dry outstanding.... and good value P.S I'll be putting them on Oliver as soon as needed

I put these on my old TVR Cerbera... if it can hold on to all the horses under that bonnet then they should have no problem with the Aero.
Great tyre... a lot of performane cars are swapping to them AFAIK
