Just arrived in Derby after a few days in Lynmouth. So came back on the A39 today. Quite a pleasant run, not much traffic and no floods. Stopped off at Bourton on the water for a break. Even quiet there! The weather has been surprisingly good, given how wet it is. Plenty of overnight rain, but not much during the day. I managed to injure my knee on the second day, while walking down Lynmouth Hill. Those who know the area will understand. The cherry pie and clotted cream at Watersmeet made up for it. Sorry to hear about your scrape Jeremy. Some drivers can be very inconsiderate.

Hi Jeremy.... Sussex and Surrey/W Surrey is my neck of the woods....

Many of the lanes off the A283 towards Petworth are worth exploring... Decent pubs in Lurgashall an around Midhurst too.

Look out for an eye-wateringly attractive Roadster in Sand. smile
