Thinking back to my recent experience (flapping bonnet on M40)but not liking bonnet straps, has anyone fitted Bonnet Pins? advice/ideas welcome

Hook there is a thread on here on Bonnet Straps and I think it was Cereal that enclosed a picure and comments about the neat pins they use for racing.

Mike Hughes has really smart bonnet pins on his competition 4/4. His car is painted in dark blue metallic with a great finish and the pins work really well. I'll see if I have a pic or can get one.

An alternative thought  . My Mog suffers from the bonnet curves being shallower than the Grill & Scuttle Body Curves causing Metal to Metal rubbing. I recently fitted 10cm long x 1.5cm square strips of Neoprene Sponge (Some Recycled Packing) to the inside edges of the bonnet curves using double sided adhesive strips to pack out and lift the bonnet. It seems to work so far and suddenly, some mysterious rattles have also disappeared.

 +1 here! very good & tried method - almost all rattles disappeared!  Did so on all my Mogs...

Had thought along those lines Frank but mine seek OK, no rattles. I have seen recessed bonnet catches, with locks which look interesting too but will require drilling and cutting holes out.
