Hi there,

I have been looking through by Morgan Owner's manual and I noted it says the oil (SAE 90) should be checked inside the steering box.

I've looked and cannot see how. There is a nut on the top, could it be this?

It's part number 25 here...

Thanks in advance,

R.

Yes, it is the nut on the top. My steering box on my '78 4/4 looks slightly different to the diagram but has a nut at that place.

By the way I refilled my box last winter with Penrite Steering Box Lube which seems to work well and has not gone down in level over this year's driving.

To wrap this up should anybody search and find it in the future, this is indeed the bolt, closest to the inner wing and by itself. Needs a 17mm spanner.

I used EP90 Gear Oil.

You'll need some form of syringe with a flexible tube to fill it (or at least to make it easier!).
