I ordered some from Morgan - the ones with the elasticated loop, off their website.

Received them today and they don't fit. frown firstly the straps are quite narrow, but the leather stitched part which holds the elasticated hoop, won't pass through the chrome strap holes on the rack. Also they feature a cross piece in leather with the Morgan logo - this cross piece is not wide enough to allow both straps to go though the chrome strap holes. All very frustrating.

I suppose there must be a variety of rear racks.

For anyone interested in strong, high quality, flat, elastcated straps (like bungee but much, much better)...

Rok Straps

http://rokstraps.com/

They don't stretch as much as ordinary bungees, but they make the load really secure.

The elastic goes either side of the chrome strap holes which are used just to locate the straps in place.

Thanks Peter - so that's how you're supposed to do it!

The holes in the chrome rack seemed purpose built to take a strap through them.

Many thanks for the pics.

cheers +1 dear Neil...

But don´t you give up:
i also use the factory-straps on both my racks (which have different distance between their "strap holes" provided). I mamaged to "persuade" the straps through the strap holes... innocent
Had the cross-strap re-tailored to length by a local saddler - to suit my first rack ("Sports"-version from the factory) - only to recognize, that my current (also factory-"on top of spare wheel") rack has different distances in between their "strap holes" banghead

But Peter´s solution sounds as appropriate as pragmatic - just don´t bother & enjoy your car! thumbs

Jochen, I've just noticed the rear of your car. Is the section under the number plate one of your specials? It's a much neater option than mine.

Hello dear Ian,

no, too much honour for me blush - on the Roadster it´s the standard factory solution for current "bumperless" & "over rider" cars.

But i have a similar solution in mind (& on my workbench) for my new Roadster as i did for my former Plus 4 (may be you thought of THAT one?).... sherlock

Hmm. I don't think your version would work for mine because of the bumper. I'll have to give it some thought...

Don´t you worry coffee:

my "Plus 4 solution" would work purrfectly for your car thumbs - the current Roadster solution would work too, just modified a bit shades ...

Feel free to mail me, if you need some more "hints".... somestick

Hi Jochen - thank you for those pics....

I really like your case. Is case-envy a bad thing?!

May I ask where you bought it from?

Picked up any speeding tickets in your Roadster yet? I'm sure I'm going to get some, it seems tailor made for the purpose!

Two petrol caps? Was that an option?
