Vinaccia is the red or black grape skins that are left after pressing the grapes to make wine. The name of the colour comes from the colour of the crushed skins. I have no idea what vinaccia is in English. Red wine is produced by leaving the vinaccia with the juice for about one week. Vinaccia is also fermented and then distilled to make grappa.

That colour looks very much like my old Ford Cortina 1600E, was painted in, I think it was called just "Aubergine".
