Reject it as not fit for purpose and demand a replacement. Its us accepting this sort of performance that killed off the UK motor industry Steady on Howard. That seems a bit of an over reaction to what is probably an easily rectified fault. The car looks great Mike, and frustrating thought this problem must I hope it doesn't blight your enjoyment of a brilliant new toy. Anyway, surely it should be "killed off the uk owned motor industry", as I understand that the UK is building more cars then ever - even 'tho, apart from Morgan, all is foreign owned...

One of the things I really like about this forum is how nice and reasonable everyone (else  ) is. But when something so new is so faulty as to have to be carted off for repair, I dont think that reasonableness is necessarily whats needed. It is a personal decision but I do feel sorry for the OP who has had the gilt taken off his gingerbread so quickly. As for the "UK owned" bit, I do not agree. Its not a motor industry when Nissan and Honda are assembling cars in the UK to foreign designs using foreign components and British labour only for the unskilled assembly line work. We have become a branch factory economy, having to bribe the factory owners to keep that assembly work in the UK whenever a new model comes up. How could we get from having the biggest motor industry in Europe to having none in just one generation, mine?

How could we get from having the biggest motor industry in Europe to having none in just one generation, mine? By allowing the multinationals to have trade barriers abolished which allows them to use cheap, unskilled labour where ever it suits them and sell in competition with local industry. We are told this is to the benefit of consumers and to help make our industry competetive. B****ks!

Its us accepting this sort of performance that killed off the UK motor industry I had a simular issue with my brand new BMW M3, it had 90 miles on the clock and decided to stop, at the start of the year. The M3 was sold to pay for the three wheeler and an estate for longer journeys.  This things happen!

Bad luck - in time you will smile about it after years of smiles and miles.... Thanks for the comments everyone! I had a great day with my wife and dog, and even took my parents out for lunch! If I'd had the car today I would have missede my walk with Buster in the woods, so life is good!

One of the things I really like about this forum is how nice and reasonable everyone (else ) is. You're not wrong there. This is the first forum I've ever really got into, and encouraged by the friendly atmosphere I thought I'd dip my toe into a sailing one. YBW scuttlebutt to be precise. Not so much the friendly joshing of TM - the scuttlebutt thread on the RNLI is like world war 3. I'm expecting the death threats to start flying anytime soon over there.

Have a look at the one they call the Lounge then. The way it sometimes kicks off in there is unbelieveable.
