 Seriously though, I had a thin rimmed wooden one on the +4. The occasional faint cracking noises worried me  , but I much prefer a rim I can get hold of properly... So I'll stick with the original thick leather covered wheel thanks The wood ones do LOOK nice though

I have to say that my life is full of leather steering wheels, so the slim wooden 13" (I think it's a small one) feels substantially different and that's good because the whole Morgan Tudor experience is what I'm after! On the nail varnish repair..... Which I'm half considering attempting..... The chip has exposed the wood, which is obviously a very light colour. Would a clear varnish gradually darken this? I've also emailed two local furniture repairers and might have them do it. Eeek! Also.... I've just been out to check the coolant level on a very cold Morgan. It's now just a fraction lower than halfway between min/max. Which is fine. When the engine's hot it's on the low mark. Funny thing is, I've never checked engines before! It's just so accessible on a Morgan that it tempts you to tinker. Very dangerous in my case.

Failed to get the steering wheel off. Soooo. I undid all the little Allen keys around the edge...... Didn't budge. I also noted that the central horn boss thing is not held in at all. Just pulls right off, slides out. One of the Allen bolts now won't do up, it just spins and won't grip anything. Grrrr! I guess I'll have to live with the chip. Varnish won't cure in the garage and nor can I take the whole car to a furniture restorer!

The Allen bolts normally screw into a locknut on the other side of the hub flange. The wheel should pull off ok, try a light tap around the rim to loosen it.
The horn boss is just a push fit.......in fact it can often jump out on bumpy roads of its own accord! If you just can't get the rim off, the wheel and hub assembly is easy enough to get off, just make sure you don't take the central nut off before pulling the wheel off the splines....it's been known to come free with a rush and hit you in the face!

I just checked the owner's manual. First Service (vehicle check) (must be completed on time)
After 1000 miles (1500km) or 3 months after delivery
(Whichever comes first) It does not involve any oil change (that happens after 12 months or 10,000 miles) and is mainly to check that all the nuts, bolts and screws are tight etc. I bought my car direct from the factory but the first service was done by Borghi in Milan who did not charge me and told me that the first service was at the factory's expense. I have no idea if this is normal or universal, it may just be that I was too far away to return to the point of sale for the first service  On the topic of steering wheels Borghi make their own variation of wooden dash panels in different timbers and they replace the wood of the MotoLita wheels to match. The effect is fantastic. Their re-made riveted steering wheels are often made with thicker rims than the standard MotoLita wheel. I will try to remember to take some photos the next time I go there.

Hi Neilda,
I have my new Morgan Roadster 3.7 since beginning of August. After 1000ms I noticed cooling fluid under the car. The reason was a not working tube clamping ring. The bolt seems to be tight, but it was just not tight enough. The clamp was exchanged by my Morgan garage. It also turns out, that several other clamps were not tight enough. Now I have enjoyed 2500ms with my new baby and everything is perfect. Even after longer runs with top speed 155 mph (you know in Germany we have roads with no speed limit) everything perfect. The car is dream.
