What about all those customers that had their warranty claims rejected and had to fork out themselves. They have had a pretty rough deal as this was clearly the fault of Morgan. No doubt the factory will write to those whose claims they rejected and offer to reimburse them? They damn well should do. They will also have installed the new glass in the old style pillars so the problem is likely to reoccur.

Hmmmm......it can't only be a 4/4 Sport problem. My understanding is that any of the Trad range built in the past 3 years or so and having a old style 9 stud roof will use the same screen pillars. Certainly the Plus 4 Super Sports do and looking at Heinz's photos of the new Baby Doll...that has the same screen supports as well.

Replacement pillars, stronger and thicker at the curve have been made and this has (hopefully) resolved the problem. Replacem, etn 4/4 Sport windscreens are now delivered with the new pillars. (Make sure they are when your screen breaks!) Link here.... They didn't with mine in September. When I got the call from the factory to say it was ready, I asked if they had fitted new uprights, to which they replied no, there is nothing wrong them. Time will tell. £75 windscreen excess, £50 train journey, £50 fuel and 400 unwanted motorway miles on the clock. Not a happy bunny.

Got my 3rd screen in the 2009 Sport now all fitted at the Dealers, the same mounts were utilised but the angle of attack of the windscreen was reduced on the last replacement such that the roof when fitted is a little easier to fit.

Hmm, I am also one of the unfortunate 4/4 Sport owners with this problem (car manufactured Dec 2009 / windscreen cracked in Mar 2010). Windscreen had been replaced under warranty in Apr 2010, but I can not tell if the pillars have been changed as well: "The 4/4 Sport uses different windscreen pillars from other classics. It curves slightly to accommodate the width of the screen. ... Replacement pillars, stronger and thicker at the curve have been made and this has (hopefully) resolved the problem." Can anyone provide pictures of the faulty and the updated pillars in comparison??

I'm still not convinced about the comments regarding the curve on the side supports or that it is specific to 4/4 Sports. This is a photo of the new frame....sorry don't have a shot of the base of it but its near identical to the easy up screen supports and I think the mounting points into the body differ from the stainless earlier type.

Oh, and while I'm on, I have to say that IMHO the 75 anniversary looks like the perfect Mog - narrow wings & wheels with the plus 4 motor. Could do without the stripes mind you; I find them a little bit Ford Capri.
