Does the telescopic damper conversion really make that much difference over properly rebuilt lever arms on normal roads? I am at the stage of removing my lever arms and debating whether to refurbish them / have them refurbished or to make the change to telescopics.
Comments from those who have done the conversion would be appreciated. John Hi John, my research to date indicates the diference between the original lever arms and telescopic shockers is huge.......anyway, I'm hoping so. Cheers, Neil.

It certainly would be interesting to know if this was exactly what was carried out on your vehicle Steve, but only if it's not too much trouble.
Cheers, Neil.
Tony believes that it was the third leaf from the bottom. Hope that helps. And the effect, as Andy says Night and Day. Thanks very much for that Steve. Interesting in that the article I quoted it was the 3rd from the axle and yours was the 3rd from the bottom of the stack ( that would make it the 5th from the axle ). I wonder whether in practice it makes any noticable difference which of those is removed. I must pop out to the garage and see how the physical characteristics of those two leaves differ. Anyone with experience of smi-elliptcal springs care to comment? Cheers, Neil

I did this mod to my 4 seater as per Dave Rutherford's instructions. As I recall he suggested removing one leaf if carrying passengers and two if never carrying extras. As well as the removal of a spring leaf several others were shortened. I've still got the dimensions written somewhere I think if you'd like a scan of them. (I very rarely look at this website though)
