This kind of exhaust driven jack should fit under a Morgan and could be used even on unstable surfaces. I have managed with the original scissor jack. The main problem has always been to unlock the centre lock wheel nut. Harald

hammer, wheel nut spanner, scissor jack, job done in three minutes or less.

'Fraid not, Mr Mountain; if it was that easy I wouldn't have posted. As I think I have posted elsewhere the scissor jack (brand new) supplied with the car will not operate, in spite of copious lubrication and, at the front jacking point, there is just no room to turn the handle, even if it did work. All this is the result of several hours of practice in the garage - perish the thought of the side of the road on a dark, wet night. That is why I am looking for an alternative...

...never used it but have seen it in many shops - what about the tyre "weld" in a can - might get you home? Depending on the type of damage of course to the tire. Somebody here may have comments?

Already have some of that, Richard, but I understand some tyre depots don't like it and are reluctant to clean out the punctured tyre to repair it. Result = new tyre, whether you actually need one or not.

Not sure about tyre weld - its not always a possible or practical solution I was concerned about all three tyres on my M3 - particularily the rear - difficult to get to and if a full deflation thats it - snookered and a recovery ride home  After quite a bit of research I bought a product called Air-seal this stays in liquid solution within the tube/tyre.Its used on all kinds of cars/vehicles.  The litre bottle cost £25 and will treat all 3/4 tyres. This may not be the perfect solution - and may have its detractors but it is an insurance and a comfort to know its in the tyres  www.air-sealproducts.com
