I would be extremely upset if that had happened to me. I suspect you will be talking to the dealer and finding out what went wrong.
I believe the engine and gearbox are all BMW if my memory serves me correctly. The amount of power and torque from that engine and you only need top gear anyway.
The car looks fabulous.

The S1 Aero used a Gertrag gearbox, S2 on used a ZF box. I can't confirm what's in the current Plus 8 though........

it looks like, my dealer did for what ever reason not order the right gear box ...
however, is there any experience with the manual gear box and is this a bmw product as well?

The gearbox is BMW 6 Speed as you see from the description I have copied from the MMC website below. I'd be very upset if the spec I'd agreed with the factory/dealer had not been delivered as ordered. That said, and to answer your question about the manual box, I have had a manual Aero 8 and a manual Plus 8. I feel the manual gearbox suits the new Plus 8 very well and much better than the Aero 8. I love the handling and the driver connection with the car that a manual gearbox gives you. All down to personal preference but you might be delightfully surprised.

Ask them to change the gearbox .Everything is
possible in a morgan.
