They seem quite reasonably priced and there is certainly a great potential for comedy value when next you're asked about your 'wooden car'... 'well my car isn't made of wood but my watch is!'
How strange! I don't wear a watch often, even though I do possess some quite good watches including a fake and a real Rolex, but this whole watch thread has really got me in. I am quite seriously thinking of buying the MeisterSinger Monograph with the parchment dial.
The watch below I have never worn and it would not go well with the Morgan. It is however an interesting curiosity and was the gadget given away with the renewal of membership of the Guzzi World Club one year. The case and the band is of clear plastic and it is quite clearly "inspired" by the Rolex Submariner. The outer bezel rotates as on the original.
I have no interest in watches,in the sense of having one on your arm - but what I do admire & respect is the technology and engineering finesse which makes them. It's astonishing.

It's a moderate bug Dave! I guess I'm a mild collector with about six 'serious' watches. I'm also fascinated by the technology - quite old technology actually....
I have a Harwood in my collection..... Harwood was an English fellow who devised and invented the automatic watch movements used by Rolex etc.
Well,i've got an eclictic taste in watches, like my cars...my daily watch is a GMT Master 2 in gold...but i also like my other 25 watches, ranging from a rose gold 1910 Rolex,to a purple plastic ICE watch...
