Having lived in France for a couple of years it is very easy to articulate yourself in this way when addressing a french audience in English. Humans always adjust their speech to the situation and regional nuances. In Barton's case as a scouser it was probably the best Englaish he has ever spoken.

Thanks Giles I'm not a round ball follower, it seems to roll too easily and predictably for me so it explains that part of my ignorance. There has to be a place at Chelsea for Tom Daley doesn't there  Honestly thought Joey must be with DecAnt in the Jungle - sad, I know I am

And a lot of the chasers of said spheroid seem to suddenly fall over mortally wounded even when no one is nearby... No offence to followers of said game, but when half the TV channels are taken over 'in season' and match overruns can even push the news timing out, I get a trifle annoyed...
