I saw the brand new demonstrator at BHM on Friday. My car (no. 350 delivered 10th October) was having the new stronger lower front wishbones fitted so I had time to do a comparison. The BHM car was no. 460 (ish).
BHM's old demonstrator also turned up while I was there so I could so some good A-B-C comparisons.
The new demonstrator has a different pedal box. It now has an angled throttle pedal and the pedal box is narrower as a result. It has lost the M3W drillings and has circular holes instead. I think this car now has 4 positions for the pedals so there is a bit more potential legroom. Sorry - no pics!
My car (350) does seem to have the later chassis - ie. the same as the latest BHM car, but has the original pedal box with only 3 positions. However, it looks like I could switch pedal boxes relatively easily to gain extra legroom (although I'm ok with what I've got - just). The older chassis design has a kink on the inside immediately behind the pedal box and neither the old nor new pedal boxes could be moved back beyond the third position. Visually though there is no difference visible easily from the outside at all.
Oddly enough, I have the latest steering rack (with a hole in the centre top of the rack) while the later BHM car has the original rack. I am told the later rack gives a better lock and calms down the steering kickback, so strange that the later car still has the older rack.
Boot-lid fit seems slightly better than on some earlier cars.
Rear wheel still slightly offset to nearside of car. Couldn't find any other differences...
Obviously pleased that I've got the latest chassis. But are there other changes in the pipeline? Anyone know?
My car is going very well now - all the funny noises have gone (apart from occasional clonk as nearside steering arm hits exhaust on big bumps), the bevel box is much quieter and very acceptable now. Car generally feels fantastic and is giving huge fun.

That's a shame, I really liked the M3W on the pedal stalks.

Agreed - the old pedal box was a bit more attractive and certainly more special.
Anyone of a certain size though will benefit from more room. There were 2 test drives while I was waiting and neither driver seemed to be able to drive the demonstrator.

Shame about the pedals, I hope they change their minds again! Seems like Morgan believes in evolution rather than revolution... Did the new one also have the big warning sticker on the dash that we saw in a recent video?

Hi I'm new to the forum and finding it very interesting. I collected my M3 (Molly) in September and despite a few issues is great fun. My main complaint is with the paint finish on the black frame and wishbones which after only 1200 miles has presented rust around the weld areas especially where water can pool on the lower wishbones! Why aren't they powder coated? With respect to mods, have Morgan provided a fix for water soaking the seat belts and making them dirty. I think I have read about home fixes somewhere but if there is a factory mod then I would prefer that route? My bevel box magically went quiet at about 900 miles so no problems there, but with respect to the fuel gauge and tank capacity I too have found I can only get 26lts in the tanks when gauge reads about 1% capacity. I am doing a test now, armed with spare fuel can to see exactly how many more miles past 0% I can squeeze out so will report back when I have the results. Could not get a sensible answer out of Morgan on this so would be interested on other M3 users thoughts

Yes, indeed, a big welcome.
Ref. seat belts getting dirty, if you look back through the picture section, you will see some pictures of my black car, with the rear cover open, showing my little home made aluminium mudguard, which is very simple and very effective at containing all the cr4p that comes off the wheel, it also seems to keep the seat belts clean and dry. The factory, however may by now have a mod of their own?
On the fuel gauge question, I have noticed that I can go for miles and miles with it reading single figures, and, like you, I ran around with a spare can of fuel in the back during the summer. From memory, I think I got something like 250 miles out of a tank full, disappointingly getting a little under 30mpg, and that driven gently too. I suppose I was hoping for mid 30's at least. Are there any other reports of fuel consumption?

Hi Guys, and many thanks for the warm welcome. I have heard from other sources that the mpg on the three wheelers is bad so I guess we will have to put up with that.
I now have the workshop manual from S&S in the states regarding the X-Wedge engine we have fitted, so if anyone has any specific question and the manual mentions it i would be happy to look.
