That looks good .Thanks for the link. The cylinders look like coming from a radial aircraft engine something like a Pratt and Whitney R1830. Rudolf.

Its not until you start looking at the pictures that you get a sense of scale for this thing.

It looks like the sort of thing that Ogri might have built in his shed over the winter.

Would be interesting trying to see over that engine if it were fitted to the M3W.

How about this one? The cam-in-head, four-valve V-Twin has been enlarged to 1380cc by pushing the bore to 104mm, while keeping the same 81.2mm stroke of the present 1200cc engine.
Compression ratio is 10.5:1, a good value for an air/oil-cooled engine. The induction system appears inspired by that of the renewed V75 “small block,” with a single 52mm throttle body and a Y-shaped manifold featuring long runners that help extract 96 horsepower at a mere 6500 rpm and an even more staggering 88.5 foot-pounds of torque at 2750 rpm. “Ride-by-wire” throttle control incorporates three power-delivery maps, as well as cruise and traction control.

I've not been in a new M3W, but a few of the reports I've read/watched say that you can almost measure progress per firing stroke.... So, on the old "Suck, Squeeze, Bang, Blow" (4 stroke) cycle, I wonder how many yards per bang you'd get from one of these big boys...?

I must admit, the sight of a Vincent impressed me as a schoolboy. Although the owner came back after I'd walked past, the roar as he kick-started it (no namby-pamby electric starters) woke me out of my teenage daze.
He then moved off, and the most remarkable thing to me was the impression the engine only fired about 10 times before he changed gear, and in top, it went bang (fired) ever third lamp-post. Ok so memory exaggerates, but it certainly was a slow revving engine.
For big capacity V twins, the engine in the Thunderbug is impressive. A 4,228cc V twin engine with two cylinders taken from an World War 1 aircraft’s radial engine mated to a crankcase from a 1909 Riley. And carried in a GN - a light weight cyclecar!
