What is the best way to check the washer level? I can see the markers for brakes, and coolant, and know how to check oil. Is it as simple as looking down the tube?

No different frm any other car, make sure you use screen washer fluid at the right concentration and fill it up to the top with water. Don't forget to check it regularly if you use the washers a lot.

Are there any recommended brands or types of mix? Can I use the ones they show in Halfords in huge bottles, pink and blue?

I am aware that the BMW branded screen washer does not mix with some other brands. Evidently it congeals and blocks the washer motor. I tend to stick to the same brand, but the best option is too empty the washer bottle this time and put in the same brand from now on. The Halford's 5L blue or pink screen wash is not diluted. Seems expensive that way, so buy one that can be diluted. Pink is the premium brand at an increase cost of 50p. WOW.
Alternatively, if you are real Morgan geek, get a colour that matches the car. innocent

Can you get the BMW brand? I suppose BMW dealers will sell it.

I am sure you can at a grossly inflated price.

I would Check with Ledgerwood to find out what the Factory put in it and then use whatever is already in your car.

Why?

Some alien product was put in mine during a service which left a sticky mess on the edges of the screen and over the bodywork when used.

I have had the system flushed twice to try and remove it as it tends to gum the jets as well.
