If I ever were to buy a car in this price range, I believe this one would be the sausage that I chose.

I think it's very good. Weismann has gone out of business though, I hear.

It is what you would expect from a good German builder of the kind. A fantastic car no doubt, but lacks the heritage and the clean lines in the design imho. toff

Its like a korean special, morgan at the front, marcos in the middle and bentley gtc at the back. All put together like a TVR/Reliant.

Its not really my kind of thing lets say. If you want to build a composite car then do that, if you want to build a traditional car do that. But this half way is really just a kit car screwed together in a warehouse.

Basically you are looking at a really expensive corvette, just with none of the benefits of having a corvette.

And its not really that impressive, for drama there are better cars in the same price range, the same with styling, customer service... i think you get the idea.

The big question is what is the Wiesmann best at?

Yeah whats up with a corvette,

1. its lighter than the Mf5
2. its 1/3 of the price
3. its reliable and you can buy parts (quicker than you can get them from mmc)
servicing is ~£300, from the vauxhall dealers that do VXR8's
4. you get a powertrain which is as reliable as the MF5

and you can spend £30k on a carbon body and another £10k on suspension for it to your own style and still have something which is £30k cheaper and probably a better car.

but then i have a soft spot for the C6.

Having GM in your back yard means everyone and their brother has a vette in the garrage. If you can tell, I have a thing for vehicles with a retro look that sound amazing. They dont have to be the fastest or best for track day, just look sexy and be somewhat rare.

Then again, I do not ever see myself spending that much on one sausage.

I was just puzzled as to how a BMW engined, specialist sportscar, which I understand are built and finished to near perfection could be described as above?

If you had said a "really expensive M5" I could understand, I just can't figure, no-doubt worthy though it is, where the Corvette fits in?

well, point is true in the usa that they are very comman, but over here in euroland then this isnt really the case, they arnt as rare as morgans but not far off.

Brian;
may be im not refined enough for your tastes, how much do you use the mog? I strongly believe that cars should be driven as much as possible, and not be a garage queen.

If you want a car for the track, the areil atom will do a much better job, and if you want something that looks classical then buy Morgan. You still end up with change out for the £160-180k MF5.

At the same time for a little bit more you can have a vette or Mx5 for driving to work.

Im a bit of a BMW hater at heart, so probibly not a good starting point.
