Note sure if anyone else has it but my browser came up with a malware message for the first page of this thread??
I have sent a pm to Simon.. Me too, in Google Chrome. Looks like it's objecting to the site where vincentvg's hosting his avatar image. I'm sure Simon will be along soon to sort it. This is correct. The same happened when Cerealsurfer linked to an animated gif for his avatar. The browsers aren't intelligent enough to understand the link is benign and not active.

Putting the 3.7 in an Aero makes sense (the V config is much better for the chassis, side exhausts etc), but it would be odd to have 2 different 3.7 V6 cars. Maybe they could go with the 3.5 Ecoboost that Peter referred to, or perhaps the 5 litre V8 Mustang engine as they already have a tie up with Ford on the 3.7 litre V6 Mustang unit. I suspect that the ever tightening noose of emission taxes would mitigate against that. Shame.

Oops, sorry I'll see if I can get it shifted to the TM a/c on Photobucket, when I get a mo'. Mind you - tried to upload a pic there yesterday, and gave up in the end. It wouldn't complete - stuck at 94% every time.

Had to go out in the Aero 8 this afternoon - roads better than they have been for a while.
Absolutely loved it. Wow - it's a great car on the right day. Even the ride is pretty good now that I've got it at 26 psi all round. Higher pressures don't really help with the Avons imho. Will definitely try others like the Michelins when changing which may be next summer.
Carefully wiped inside the arches afterwards but wasn't too bad.
Don't want any other engine - my 4.4 V8 is feeling very lusty!! Especially after the fun but only "nippy" M3W. What was I thinking about a 4 cylinder - sacrilege!

My prayers.
3L 6cyl twin turbo BMW engine £80k inc VAT max Hardtop (with further leak protection around doors) Improved ventilation/airlfow
Not certain if I want a GT3 barebones spec or something I can put an autobox on and is more silent for a daily drive.
I also took my Aero out for a ramble today, top down all the way. Fantastic. Puts perspective on life. Didn't smell roses but don't care.

Rather a long engine to fit in though...without upsetting the balance. Nice engines though!

Not for me. If I'm going to spend £80K (or more). It's the Rumble In The Jungle of a proper V8 ... or nothing

I partly agree around a V8 but an in-line6 can sound beautiful in a different way. My old Skyline GT-R IL6 sounded stunning at 8000 rpm and that was a twin turbo so all the old comments about turbos kill the engine noise are bunkum.
The V12 in the MB sounds equally amazing but different again.
When I hear the IL6 in an e-type or older Aston under full bore it still gives me shivers.
Then again as soon as I heard the Aero (sidepipes) it closed the deal.
So many colours and forms, which one to choose.....there are worse problems
