Hope everyone had a nice day. Anyway, I think the profile of the Plus 8 looks fantastic. Wish my plus 4 had the looks of the big classic without the running costs. Always assumed the "squatter" profile came from being wider due to the bigger engine and maybe different chassis. I was surprised therefore to find that it is only 3cm wider with other dimensions the same. In contrast, the Plus 4 is 9cm wider then the 4/4. Can't see how such a tiny difference can change the looks. Can't be any lower then my mog. Maybe the wheels have a small aesthetic impact, but the body just looks fab to my eyes.

I think the "flatter" (and wider?) looking front wheel arches make a huge visual difference....

I agree on the flat front wings wich deffinitivelly change the classic feeling of what a trad' mog should look . Too flat for me.

I would imagine it is more likely that the width quoted by the MMC is incorrect. The headlamp to cowl gap looks a lot bigger than 1.5 cm, and I would assume that the headlamps have been fitted as far inboard as regs allow.

I was thinking that Brian, but thought it might be a slight difference in perspective on the pics. Also wondered if the headlamps differed, maybe slightly smaller on v8 (doubt it) but they do seem to differ to me. Liking plus 8 lamps better. Seem to be in minority on looks though. Must be the boy racer in me not quite extinguished. Still prefer a baseball cap to a flat cap, but getting there.

I think that the screen is also wider. And if the sun visors are the same size there's a bigger gap between the inner mountings each side of the rear view mirror.

Wish I'd never started this game - sending me nuts now. Just about to get the ruler out to measure the fence, but decided to get a grip.

The top one looks to me to be wider than the bottom one by some margin. The rad grill is the same but the windscreen is wider - look at the gap between the blinds. The space between the bonnet and the wings looks bigger too and the wings themselves look wider and flatter. I dont believe 3cm

For me, the new +8 looks like a caricature of the traditional Morgan roadsters. I don´t like it.
