Mine really started at CLM with rain spotted paintwork and despite trying some of the remedies suggested on here, I couldn't shift them. So it was going to be a bonnet and cowl repaint, but then I thought that I may as well do the wings as well. With the wings off and the bulkhead looking a bit tatty, I stripped that as well and everything went off to be painted. I will get the car back in early January for reassembly, but as I've also got replacement metal sprayed manifolds to fit I may as well take the heads off (apparently the 14 stud V8 heads can start to blow after 50/60,000 miles, so I might as well check them). With the wings off I also want to clean and repaint the front cruciform and refresh the front suspension. Intend to leave the brakes alone, although stainless flexible hoses would probably be worth doing whilst it's all easy to access. Should keep me out of the way for a week or two!

My plans for 2013 have started early. Having a 4/4 Sport I have never been happy with the plain rear end. My wife bought for me at Christmas parts to enable a spare wheel to be fitted, comprising a luggage rack, spare wheel, tyre and mounting kit. It also needed a new rear cowl as the existing fog and reversing lights fouled the mounting tubes. It was interesting and fairly easy to fit taking about 8 hours, in my opinion the transformation is superb, now looking like a traditional Morgan.
My next project is to install remote greasing for the king pins, I do not foresee any problems, but should you no better ???
Will endeavour to post a photo of the transformed rear end when the weather improves.

You seem to have your wife well trained Jack! I did the rear end rack and spare tyre on my Sport and it works well. The narrower tyre and fairly flush fitting rack keeps the overall profile down to something akin to the Plus 4 with rack.

New tyres for RTA. Purchase the 4 seater and finish the rebuild. Highlands tour in late June , plus as many other miles as I can fit into the insurance limit... Cheers,

Ahh, well, just a couple of snippets as I haven't been able to get up to view it for quite a while - the owner has just recently come out of hospital. It's bright yellow, 1973. Is the first Morgan I ever sat in (when I still had my Tasmin). At present engine is out, in process of rebuild. I helped the owner lift the bonnets off on one of my treks north to Sister's place 3 or so years ago. Owner wants it to go to someone who will take care of it, not just finish the rebuild in order to sell it on. It's done quite a few competitive events over the years. That's as far as I will go for now... It's not mine - yet

Graham That sounds like my sort of car. If it is for sale, and should you for any reason decide not to buy it, please let me know! Cheers
