Greetings from Shropshire. I'm planning my mid life crisis. The wife says a Morgan would be cheaper in the long term than a mistress but I haven't decided whether to go brand new or an older one. I am a bit put off a new one by some suggestions of quality and customer care issues that I have read on here. Ben Duncan at Hartlebury was very kind and helpful a couple of months ago. However, having read a lot of posts on here as part of my research I thought I ought to introduce myself and say, "hello"

Personally, I'd go for a new mistress... Oh, you mean Morgan!

From my experience, you get more problems from new with a new or re-vamped model. If you go for an established model, you should be OK. & of course, any problems should be sorted under warranty.

I was going to say that women love Morgan's, so if you play your cards right and can be a bit sneaky you can have both, but my wife might read this so I shan't.

Personally I wouldn't go for an older one - stay with the one you already have...

As far as the car is concerned, it won't be as much fun as a mistress but will be a lot less expensive and even hold it's value. Further benefits are that your wife might even like the car (she won't like the mistress): there will be an initial period of doubt but in the end she'll get to love that wind-in-the-hair feeling.. and you'll love the fact that lot's of potential mistresses will give you the once over as you fly by.. well, that's what you might think, but really they are just looking at the car.

Mistresses come and go, a Morgan is forever.

Get the Morgan and then the quality and quantity of potential mistresses will rise considerably.

I guess part of the decision also comes down to how much you want to work on the car yourself/tinker with it etc. It's easier to do this on an older car (engine wise).
