The wood in my 1993 Plus 8 was treated with Cuprinol during the factory build. What should I use now to further protect the wood?

Hi It doen't look like you are getting much response form this forum, perhaps because you are not a 'regular'? I do not know the answer to your question but I must say I have never seen the question asked before. You could always apply more cuprinol wood preservative I suppose or similar if that brand is not available locally to you. There may be something of interest on this link? http://www.gomog.com/allmorgan/woodindex.htmlgood luck and Happy New Year!

I did not answer because Ian is in the USA and what we get over here may not be the same . But when my car is stripped of leather in a month or two I am going to treat the wood several time to Sickens Filter 7 while I can get at it again. Most wood products are becoming water based this one is not .

Hi IanA and Fingles, I doubt the lack of feedback is due to you not being a 'regular', to date there have been 147 views, I for one would not know what to advise so did not respond. Please do not let that put you off using the forum. Now the posting is back in view hopefully others more knowledgable than me will answer.

Nothing to do with being new on the forum.... Like the above, I don't know the answer. Would a dealer know?
I assume you'd want to avoid anything with a strong smell.
I also assume Cuprinol is still very much available.....

IanA / Fingles, Like JTL, Wirewheel and Neilda I couldn't add anything significant on wood preservative, so I didn't post a reply. I do try to help where I can, mainly on the nuts and bolts side of things. As the others have said keep posting, this is a great site for sharing knowledge and experience.
Philip.

If you need Cuprinol I'm sure someone would buy the right stuff and ship it to you.

The wood in my 1993 Plus 8 was treated with Cuprinol during the factory build. What should I use now to further protect the wood? If Cuprinol is not available in the US; how about using a wood oil like linseed oil? Bud __________ 2003 - 4/4

First time I've noticed this one! I'm a big fan of Danish Oil. Easy to apply, dries fast and water repellent. Might be doing the interior again this year with it. Available from Wickes and other suppliers in the UK.
