As my mog is a garaged fair weather toy (I know, anathema to some owners) I have what I considered to be the most useless accessory possible - a heated front windscreen.

However, I have been converted. I assumed its only function would be to defrost a frozen screen and thus as much use as a tornado early warning system.

Even with the top down the screen often suffers from heavy misting so with one press of the button, problem solved!

So any new car buyers, don't dismiss it when ticking those expensive boxes!

it works in the Max brilliantly over and above the A/C, the screen is clear within Seconds

Certainly would recommend it even in a convertable. Maybe its one of those things MMC should be praised for notworthy

I know what you mean about a fair weather car.... I've had a succession, maybe 6 or 7 'garage queens' that I kept in pristine condition for, effectively, the next owner. I am absolutely determined that the Morgan won't fall into this catagory - I've been out whizzing in it today! smile

Unless its icy (salt) or pouring with rain, I will use it.

Mine has a heated screen too, but I think it was a standard fit item. Think so.

Yes, the heater front screen is standard on the classics. It is there as later classics do not have any demisters.

Oh... Did some traditionals have a demister? Vents in the dash top? I've never seen that.

Probably quite a good thing I would have thought. I find I have lovely hot knees in cold weather - a demister might warm more northerly areas!

I have the heated screen, but it never seems very powerful, certainly not enough to clear the screen in seconds.

Yes mine has, the heater is as much use as an asmatic budgie . But those vents come in handy , well not the vents an old mate a hardy Jock said his heater in his 2 litre +4 ( Fiat engine )it was quick , slipped the tube off the screen demister shoved it up his jeans and popped an elastic band around his leg . He sent me a card at Christmas he sold it and now has a roadster wrote not as much fun as Katy ( reg on +4 KTY ) the roadster is so dull , now dont tut tut Tom has had all kinds of sports cars and he can drive used to hill climb and sprint .He removed his heater out of the +4 and put in one from a mini.

Is it the kind with the hexagonal structure, alà Fords? It's a great convenience in certain circumstances but I cannot abide the dazzle at night.

Unable to remember its a while since I saw it . Parking heater your getting soft young man , my wife and I have just spent the a/noon working on my mog in the garage with our coats on . I turned on the engine it used to blow black smoke out like a pit chimney . I asked her to put a clean duster over it and not a mark just white smoke lets hope after all the work done to it I can pass my Emission test easy and those twin Weber carbs are not as thirsty . Almost finished the engine bay about 1 more weeks work ( not all at once ) and thats it done . happy3
