Should not do this. Water collecting in the heater system? A pinhole in the heater matrix? Wet carpets? The moisture has to come from somewhere and misting requires a flow of damp warm air over a cold windscreen so depending on whether the misting is inside or outside I would wonder the source of the dampness except maybe for advection fog in autumn.

I've once had the windscreen suddenly mist inside and out on RTA.
Just approaching Prescott and there must have been a sudden temp/humidity change. Once second clear screen, next like peering through a thick fog. It was a cool morning.
Not a fault with heater, roof was off (as per normal), if it had been on I doubt there would have been condensation on the inside of the screen.

Cheers,

Perhaps if you owned a Morgan Howard you might understand these little foibles!

My screen can mist up....there is no damp in the car or leaking heater. Just a change of air temperature and humidity and the heated screen soon fixes it.

Had that happen on the outside of the daily driver the other day. It was a very frosty morning and the windscreen was still icy cold. We obviously hit a bank of warmer moist air and the windscreen fogged up in a split second. Serves me right for not getting the car warmed up before departure.

Not even a damp gusset? Or the sight of a nubile young lady in the car alongside?

Years ago my neighbour had a paraffin heater placed under the engine bay. He had an old Ford Popular and there was no antifreeze. It seemed to work ok. I think the heater was specifically designed for this purpose.

My dad had one.... I remember it clearly..... He also had an Austin Atlantic. Very unusual car.
