This is a duplicate post as the one I just made to the "maintenance" forum. Please forgive me for the bundling, but I thought that since more folks hang on this forum than the other, I might get better response here.

I am embarrassed to tell my customer that he has to spend such a high price for a simple ball bearing that has failed for his 58 DHC.

I have searched on the 'Net until I am green in the face trying to find a cross reference that would point me in the direction of another manufacturer, but all that I find are very confusing.

The OEM bearing is an R&M unit marked LJ11/8. This crosses to dimensions of 28.58mm X 63.5mm X 15.88mm OR 1 1/8in X 2 1.2in X 0.5/8in.

The idea is to find another manufacturer (Timken-SKF-?)that would have one in a warehouse domestically in the US for a reasonable amount of money.

Thanks for any help that anyone might offer.

These people have supplied me bearings for over 30years, by size rather than Manufacturer.

If you require any furhter assistance feel free to PM

R&M still exist - see their website: http://www.ransomeandmarles.co.uk - they may be able to source one for you.
