Halfords have 4L of 5W30 Part Synthetic Engine Oil on offer at £10, suitable for Ford Zetec and most engines post 1990. Worth a look, reduced from £26.99!
Cheers

Dave, although often derided as 'Halfrauds' one can't go wrong with a deal like this- I bought some Castrol Magnatec last year at a really good price.

Totally agree Gerry. Wonder what price the trade buys oil for?

Just been up to our local store and they don't know about this!
I'll check next week, just in case the news takes longer to get to Devon.

Can anyone confirm the "5W30 -Ford" as offered on Halfords site is ok in the Sigma engine (2009 4/4 Sport)? If so, a bargain and I'll be diverting to Winterstoke, Brizzle, on the way into work tomorrow.

Ta!

The 'can' says Fords 1997-2006 and some Land Rover, Jaguar, volvo and Mazda vehicles. Meets Ford WSS-M2C-913-B, suitable for Zetec engines. Then you also have ACEA-A1,B1 and API-SL,CF.

In the 4/4 sport I tend to use Gulf Competition 5w-40 racing engine oil from Opie oil when on offer and buy bulk.
The oil is up their with the best.
Opie have a discount for clubs etc for even more of on specials

Incidentally I've also upgraded to Gulf Racing brake fluid DOT 5.1- 1 Litre at about £7 per Litre very good boiling specs far exceed a lot of the very expensive BF, some £13-£20 odd per 500mm.

I have just been back to my local Halfords and for information, the oil is a special run they did in the 4 litre cans for January.
Locally they had sold out, but are in the process of obtaining a can from another store in Devon that was showing a few left.

So you will need to act quickly if you want to take advantage of the offer.
