New watch
The thread Nice watch for a Morgan got me looking at watches and I was so taken by the MeisterSinger Monograph that I ordered it. To have it sent by courier would have cost €40 for insurance so I decided to save the money and pick it up myself. It was a good excuse for a run in the Morgan and to send a couple of days at a spa at Abano Terme. A round trip of 500 km and a bill of €1,200 plus fuel to save €40  We had a great time and lucked out with the hotel room. The hotel we booked on the internet was actually closed for the season and they switched us to another hotel in the group for the same price and upgraded us to a Junior Suite for the inconvenience. The room was great, the service wonderful, the food and wine fabulous, and both  and I were happy and relaxed following a couple of massages for both of us, some treatments for her and several dips in the natural hot water pools. It was quite chilly but we had sunshine on the first two days and a bit of mist with the sun shining through for the trip home. PS. Contrary to rumours I don't work for the Italian tourist organisation.

Very nice watch Peter, I like your taste. Sounds a good deal to me, collecting the watch...far better than an impersonal courier service!

I think we can make a game of this: "Where can Peter go to collect his next watch"I'm voting for a trip to the Black Forest to meet Dirk Dornblüth  When you have time, I'd love to see some close-ups of the dial and case.

Nice watch Peter  and more great photos to share. Looks like you and Alis had a great trip, and it certainly beats my current task of decorating the guest room... with a bad shoulder

Somewhat different than my recently arrived Vostok .............! The latter does have a certain Soviet charm to it though and is a more interesting alternative to a cheapo digital for when I'm knocking about under a car or decorating and wanting to preserve my decent watches.

In the mid 1980s purchased a Pierre Renoir as a dress watch ,nice and slim fits like a glove never seen any since.
