You have to love the directness of the Aussies. In France they use the overhead gantries on motorways to transmit messages to drivers, which because of the way they are worded, along the lines of "I always leave enough room between me and the car in front" tend to sound a trifle smug. I keep expecting to get messages from them such as "I always brush my teeth twice daily" or "I always put the loo seat down"
On the approach to the city centre of Sydney a few years back the authority put up a road closures notice in two parts. It was impossible to take it all in, as it alternated from one part to the next, without taking your eyes off the road. Muggins here was driving his recently restored Maserati V8 Quattroporte, and yes you can see it coming, at that critical moment the car in front stopped! Just as well I had insurance.
