My Mog has done 100,000 miles in the last 26 years, I've owned it for 12 years and have covered 40k miles, so about 3300 pa on average in my ownership. But for 8 of those years I was working in Switzerland most weeks and never got to drive it from one month to the next.

I bought mine on 12,800 three years ago.
First year was new toy and so I hit 6-7000
Second year was 3000
Last year I had work overload and so less than 2000.

7.5K miles average a year so far since new in 2009 and every mile enjoyed

Now I've opted for 3 day working week it will be a whole lot more

30,000 in 5 years in the last Roadster. Since I've nearly retired ( I wish!) it will be less, as I won't be using it to & from work.

It's a Morgan so of course it doesn't make financial sense having said that my Plus 8 has increased in value by around 40% in the five years I've had it ( based on the insurance valuations)

I do 2-3000 miles a year, hardly use it in the winter though.

I have covered 36k miles in the last 40 months of morgan ownership, its not really a toy though. I use it most days - although I have been keeping warm in my old merc for the last couple of months.

I did that end-2009 and then fully retired 6 months ago. Caterham 7 celebrated my semi-retirement, then I grew up and got the Morgan on the day I retired!.Out today, and again tomorrow because it will be in the morning.

By the way, for those of us who don't go racing around, what do YOU call it when you go out for a drive? I like the 1920s phrase "an S in the M" (a Spin in the Motor) but some of my colleagues like to go for a Bimble. What do you do?

Im just comming to the end of my first year of Morgan ownership. Hilda will have covered nearly 4000 miles by then. i was out alot at the start to get the first 1000 miles up and ran in. then when i sold another car, Hilda was used more than i would have liked whilst waiting for the replacment. having said all that, i drive it whenever i can. ive never been so keen to pop to the shops on errands. im expecting ill do around 3000 next year.
PS best toy ive ever had. not only does it put a smile on my face. it never fails to make others smile when they see it. I can assure you, you dont get the same reception in a 911.

Steve - I was probably born a little too competative as I'm never happy until I'm in front, and at 61 it hasn't faded - sad but true.

So I'm always going for a "Blast in the Countryside" is what the family call it when they passenger - they also seem to have inherited the defective gene .... and Blast around at Zero feet wherever they are going

Interesting! The Lotus 7 lot were always "blatting". Blat (I think = BLues And Twos; ie emergency services driving fast with blue lights on and two-tone sirens). Always seemed a bit pretentious to me. But in a Caterham I felt every drive had to be frantic and it got a bit tedious. I found I was eventually driving slower and enjoying it much more, but I needed company - hence the 4-seater. Now, as I said, an S in the M suits much better .
